Kieran Trippier’s performances in the Champions League this season, most notably the one against Leverkusen two weeks ago, have been mightily impressive, and he deserves to retain his place ahead of Kyle Walker.

Although England international Walker has started all ten of Spurs’ Premier League matches, Trippier has started the last two European games, and performed well at right-back.

With one eye on the North London derby on Sunday, Pochettino may keep faith with Trippier in a bid to rest Walker for that crucial match at the Emirates.
