5 things we learned from Chelsea v Sunderland

Borini’s Bridge return

Sunderland forward Fabio Borini made a return to Stamford Bridge.

The Italian was a Chelsea player between 2007 and 2011, but he was regularly sent out on loan during his time in South West London.

Borini only made 12 appearances during his four-year spell, but his relationship with the club was displayed when he hugged John Terry during his guard of honour substitution in the first-half.

Since arriving permanently at Sunderland in 2015, Borini has only managed to score seven goals in 53 appearances.
