Manchester City and Brazil forward Gabriel Jesus celebrates his 20th birthday today, and everyone here at Shoot! would like to wish the striker many happy returns!

Jesus made the move to England in January after a hugely successful spell at Brazilian side Palmeiras, where he scored 28 goals in 83 games to help them win the league title in 2016, as well as the domestic cup competition in 2015.

But it was his second season which seemed to catch the eye of City boss Pep Guardiola, with Jesus’ 21 goals in 46 games in all competitions prompting the Spaniard to seal a deal for the 20-year-old in August of last year, just a month after helping Brazil win the Olympic Gold at their home games.

He didn’t link up with the Citizens until January though, but when he did, he made his mark, netting on his first Premier League start in their 4-0 victory over West Ham, and then firing a crucial brace as Guardiola’s men edged past Swansea 2-1 four days later.

However, he suffered a metatarsal injury against Bournemouth on February 13 which looks set to rule him out for the season, but it’s clear that from his first few games in English football, he could be a real asset to Guardiola and City over the coming years.

So, given that Jesus celebrates his 20th birthday today, we at Shoot! have brought you FIVE things that you probably didn’t know about the Brazilian forward…
