Everton are considering a move for Stephane Ruffier.

According to a report on TalkSPORT the St Etienne keeper is under consideration as Ronald Koeman looks to fill a problem position.

Jordan Pickford was Koeman’s first choice but with Sunderland looking for close to £25m for a relatively inexperienced keeper the Everton boss is looking elsewhere for value.

Ruffier has been first choice at St Etienne for six seasons and could earn a massive pay rise if he was to move to England.

The keeper is under contract until 2021 but St Etienne would find it difficult to resist an offer in the region of £15m.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for the 30-year-old with Koeman knowing from experience last summer that it’s best to try and get business tied up early.

After finishing seventh last season Koeman has been given the funds to push Everton into contention for a Champions League place next season.
