Back-to-back victories over Southampton and Newcastle United respectively have given AFC Bournemouth a major boost in their mission of preserving their Premier League status for the first-ever time in the club’s history.

The arrival of striker Benik Afobe has played a key part in the Cherries’ rise up the league standings, with the former Arsenal hitman bagging four league goals in his first nine appearances for the South Coast outfit since his switch from Championship outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers back in January.

However Eddie Howe’s side’s top goalscorer in the Premier League is still star forward Callum Wilson (5) – who has not featured for the club since September 26 after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament.

Given Afobe’s great adaptation to the English top-flight during the second-half of the 2015-16 campaign, you wouldn’t bet against the 23-year-old finding the back of the net at least another two times during their final nine fixtures to win Bournemouth’s top goalscorer award outright come May.
