Toure won the award in 2013

A previous winner of the award in 2013, Toure is probably the most high profile African playing today. A dominant and powerful midfielder, the 32-year-old was unable to drive Manchester City to Premier League glory last term. However, his side have started the better this time round and currently sit top the table. Toure also captained Ivory Coast to victory in the Africa Cup of Nations, only the second time they have won it in history.
