Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Italy international defender Daniele Rugani, according to the players’ agent.

The Premier League side, who visit North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday (12:30), have been linked with a move for the Juventus centre-half.

The 23-year-old, who has four international caps for the Azzurri, has scored one goal and provided an assist in 15 appearances in all competitions for the defending Serie A champions so far this season.

Rugani, who began his career with Empoli at the age of just six-years-old, has netted four goals in 56 games overall for Juve.

Juventus’ Daniele Rugani.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger was understood to be after a new defender during the recent January transfer window, but no deal eventually materialised.

However, Rugani’s agent, Davide Torchia, claims Arsenal are interested in his client.

He said, via the Daily Star, “Daniele’s doing well, I’m happy for him.

“Arsenal? They didn’t launch any attempts for him. They expressed a liking for him but we have respect for Juventus.”

The centre-back is valued at £18m, by transfermarkt.
