Ajax star midfielder Donny van de Beek makes Man Utd or Real Madrid transfer decision, according to transfer expert Duncan Castles

When speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Castles suggested van de Beek who has been performing incredibly well in both the Eredivisie and the Champions League in midfield, would prefer to join Real Madrid over Manchester United this summer.

Unfortunately, in many ways, the great Ajax side that has performed wonders in recent years, seems to be slowly breaking up with other stars such as Frenkie de Jong and Hakim Ziyech joining Barcelona and Chelsea respectively.

United Chief Executive Ed Woodward will be under pressure to bring players to the club.

And now it seems that fellow midfielder van de Beek is on his way of the club this summer, but agonisngly for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ed Woodward, not to Man United.

Castles said: “I asked a contact at Ajax about this report that initially emerged in the Netherlands that Manchester United were pushing for the player again and has some support, with Edwin van der Sar saying it’s clear that clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United in Donny van de Beek on record.

“The reply from the source was essentially that the agent is trying to remind Real Madrid that other clubs are interested in the player and they need to commit to the deal and they want to get that deal completed and get his future sorted out.

“So the preference for Van de Beek is to go to Real Madrid.

“We’ve seen this story many, many times with Real Madrid.”
