Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez has been at the epicentre of a storm after he was dropped to the bench during the Gunners’ 3-1 loss to Liverpool, before being brought on at half-time as an attempt to salvage the game.

The Chile international was reportedly benched after a training ground spat lead to the star man storming off early ahead of an argument with fellow players in the changing rooms.

The loss at Anfield only added fuel to the fire surrounding the future of manager Arsene Wenger, with his bold call backfiring magnificently.

The Frenchman, who has been in charge in north London for over two decades, has been on the receiving end of the most vicious criticism of his career after defeats to Watford, Chelsea and now Liverpool in the league as well as the Champions League embarrassment at Bayern Munich where his side capitulated to lose 5-1.

However, the squad are back in training this morning ahead of the reverse fixture with the German giants and it looks like Sanchez may be ready to commit to the club once again, with him and the boss looking as close as ever.

The former Barcelona man, who has just over a year remaining on his current deal at the club, was also pictured smiling with summer signing Lucas Perez during their training session.
