The debate around the future of Arsenal hero Alexis Sanchez continues to rumble on ahead of the summer window, but it may not depend on whether or not the club stump up the money he is asking for.

According to reports from the Daily Star, the former Barcelona man has become ‘increasingly frustrated’ by the lack of progress made in north London, with the Gunners staring down the barrel of another humiliating Champions League exit at the hands of Bayern Munich.

Arsene Wenger’s side are also well off the pace in the title race, with leaders Chelsea 13 points clear of the Gunners, with their only real hope for silverware remaining this season being the FA Cup.

While a third FA Cup in four years is, of course, not a bad thing, fans have been voicing their anger over what is perceived as persistent underachievement, and it seems to be rubbing off on the playing staff.

The Star report that the front-runners to land Sanchez are currently La Liga outfit, Sevilla.
