Antonio Conte couldn’t hide is displeasure of Tottenham’s transfer dealings.

The Spurs boss was speaking to the press ahead of his side’s FA Cup fourth round clash with Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend.

Due to the international break, it was the first time Conte has spoken at a press conference since transfer deadline day where Spurs took their total to four players leaving the club.

Conte has never been afraid to voice his opinion.

The Italian did not hold back on his views.

He said: “It means something went wrong in the past. It was strange to let players go in January on loan, and one player to sell. It means in the past we have to see what you did maybe to understand there was some mistakes in the past. You have to buy a player to enforce your team but if you send away players you bought on loan for the last two, three years it means you have done something wrong in the past.

“They are important players. N’Dombele we paid a lot for; the same with Lo Celso and Gil. For sure to lose four players in January I repeat its not normal. We share the decision with the club and the players. I repeat it means something went wrong in the past.”

Conte is not afraid to tell it how it is, but the club will now be under huge pressure to make something of the rest of this campaign, with silverware and a top four finish still in their sights.
