A stalwart in the Chelsea defence ever since his arrival from Lokomotiv Moscow back in 2008, there have been signs this season that Serbian international Branislav Ivanovic is in decline.

He’s been a part, at times the main part, of a Chelsea defence that has looked shaky at the start of the new season – a far cry away from the Ivanovic we’ve got used to seeing since his Premier League debut eight years ago.

With his contract up at the end of the season, and it looking unlikely to be renewed, Chelsea might try and sell up in January, enabling more room in the squad for Conte to bring in a long-term replacement.

With the Italian looking to bring in more defensive reinforcements in January, it might be the right time for Ivanovic to end his stay in West London.
