Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan has agreed to move to Premier League giants Arsenal, although the two clubs have yet to agree on a fee according to Spanish outlet El Desmarque (via The Metro).

The 30-year-old struggled to regularly force his way into Luis Enrique’s first team this season, earning just 14 starts in La Liga, and only one in their Champions League campaign to the quarter-finals.

And although he bagged four goals in European competition this term, three of which coming in his only start against Borussia Monchengladbach in December, it does appear that the Spanish giants are willing to allow the Turkey international a move away this summer.

And Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is taking steps to ensure that Turan moves to the Emirates Stadium, with reports suggesting that the 30-year-old has agreed to move to North London.

The Arsenal chief signed a new two-year deal last week and is under pressure to deliver quality signings to help the club challenge for the Premier League title next term, as well as return to the Champions League.

And a player of the calibre of Turan, winner of La Liga with both Barca and Atletico Madrid, is certainly one that will interest Gunners supporters, although they will surely be concerned that no fee has been agreed between the two clubs, with the Spanish outfit reportedly hoping to get £26 million for the midfielder.

Ultimately, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal stump up the cash to sign the £23.8 million-rated star (as per Transfermarkt), but what does appear evident is that he is interested in a move to the Emirates, and thus Wenger must look to stump up the cash as soon as possible.
