Arsenal appear to have accidentally announced the signing of Matt Turner from MLS side New England Revolution.

Both the player and his current employers have already confirmed the deal, but the Gunners have so far remained tight-lipped in regard to the singing and were planning to announce it when the goalkeeper completes a medical at the end of the season.

But the secret is already out, as Turner himself dropped a huge hint that he is on his way to the capital.

The 27-year-old posted an Instagram story from his wedding, which showed a bouquet of red and white flowers along with a card that read ‘Congratulations on your wedding day! Best wishes, from everyone at Arsenal FC!’

As per Football London, Turner agreed terms with the Gunners in January, and is expected to replace Bernd Leno as the club’s second choice ‘keeper.

Turner will make the move across the Atlantic this summer

Leno lost his starting spot to Aaron Ramsdale earlier this season, and is now expected to depart the club this summer with a number of clubs in his native Germany interested in the 30-year-old.

The German is nearing the end of his contract, though, and Arsenal may therefore struggle to recoup the entirety of the £19.2 million that they paid for him in 2018.

Turner, meanwhile, has established himself as one of the MLS’ standout goalkeepers, and has also announced himself on the international stage.

He made his debut for the USMNT in February last year, and has played in 15 of their last 21 fixtures.

The ‘keeper missed the first nine games of the current MLS season after suffering a foot injury, but kept a clean sheet on his return to action against Miami on Sunday.

The US international has kept 24 clean sheets in 107 matches for New England.
