Arsenal star Mesut Ozil admits Cristiano Ronaldo helped him become the player he is today.
The 28-year-old, who has 83 international caps for Germany and has won the FIFA World Cup (2014) with his country, has impressively scored seven goals and provided four assists in 14 appearances in all competitions for the Premier League outfit this season.
Ozil, who played with Portugal’s Euro 2016 winner Ronaldo at Real Madrid, before his club-record £42.5m switch to the Gunners in 2013, is grateful to the Manchester United legend for helping develop his career during their time together at the La Liga giants.
He told Arsenal’s YouTube channel, “Cristiano Ronaldo, I never saw one guy like him.
“He is the first guy in the dressing room and the last guy to go home. He wants to fight even in a training game.
“He made me better on the pitch. Of course, I give my assists, a lot, to him and he knows. But I really enjoyed playing with him because he does not need a lot of chances.
