Arsenal and Chelsea are set to go head-to-head in a race to land Spain international striker Alvaro Morata this summer, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League giants, who finished second and tenth in the English top-flight standings last season, have been linked with a move for the Juventus forward ahead of the forthcoming 2016/17 term.

The 23-year-old, who has eight international caps for his country and has been included in Spain’s squad for the EURO 2016 finals in France later this month, scored 12 goals and provided 12 assists in 47 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A champions this season.

Morata; who is set to leave the Italian outfit for former club Real Madrid this summer given the La Liga side’s £23m buyback clause, is then set to be offloaded by boss Zinedine Zidane to the highest bidder, with both the Gunners and Blues reportedly ready to cough up £30m for his services.
