Arsenal return to Premier League action when they face Aston Villa on Sunday.

The Gunners currently sit top of the Premier League table, ahead of second-placed Liverpool on goal difference.

Mikel Arteta’s side also remain in the Champions League, and drew 2-2 against German champions Bayern Munich in the first leg of their quarter-final at The Emirates on Tuesday.

While the Gunners pursue a remarkable double this term, it appears that they have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of a transfer target.

As per 90min, RB Leipzig could be willing to sell Arsenal target Benjamin Sesko this summer.

The Slovenian forward has a £42 million release clause in his current contract, but the report claims that the German side could be willing to sell him for a lower figure.

Sesko is a target for at least two Premier League clubs

Sesko, 20, joined Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg last summer and has since scored 12 goals in 36 games across all competitions for the German club.

He netted 29 goals in 79 games for Salzburg, as well as providing 11 assists.

It is claimed that both Arsenal and London rivals Chelsea have shown an interest in the Slovenia international, who is contracted to Leipzig until the end of the 2027/28 season.

Manchester United have also been credited with an interest, although the Red Devils did sign Rasmus Hojlund from Italian side Atalanta last summer.

The report suggests that Sesko is keen to move on from Leipzig, and the German side are willing to allow him to do so providing that their valuation of the player is met.

While his release clause stands at £42 million, clubs may not have to activate the clause in order to sign the striker, as Leipzig are said to be ‘open-minded’ about the structure of any potential deal.
