The Premier League returned from that god-awful international break with a bang over the weekend, despite an albeit drab ‘Red Monday’ to end the proceedings.

The weekend opened with champions Leicester paying a visit to Stamford Bridge where they continued their poor title defence, falling to a 3-0 defeat.

The three o’clock kick-offs brought with them plenty of goals and talking points, with Bournemouth’s 6-1 routing of Mike Phelan’s Hull City, in his first game as the Tigers’ permanent boss.

Man City, who were held to a draw by Ronald Koeman’s Everton side, managed to stay top of the table thanks to their superior goal difference over Arsenal, who managed a ten-man 3-2 win over Bob Bradley’s Swansea side in his first game in charge.

Elsewhere on Saturday there were wins for Stoke and West Ham, whilst it took a late Dele Alli goal to rescue a point for Tottenham at The Hawthorns, after Nancer Chadli gave Pulis’ side the lead against his former club.

Come ‘Super’ Sunday and Watford managed a, to be exceedingly generous, boring 1-0 win over Aitor Karanka’s Middlesbrough, before a Charlie Austin brace helped Southampton sink his former side Burnley 3-1.

But in a week of individual brilliance, who were the top performers? Here are Shoot!’s Top 5 Premier League Players of the Weekend…..
