Arsenal and Brighton will put their perfect records so far this season on the line when the two sides meet at The Amex on Saturday.

The Seagulls have defeated Everton and Manchester United so far, while Mikel Arteta’s side followed up an opening weekend win over Wolves with a 2-0 victory against Aston Villa on Saturday.

The Spaniard has guided his side to second-placed finishes in each of the past two Premier League campaigns, and he will be desperate to go one better this time around and get the better of rivals and reigning champions Manchester City.

A win on the south coast on Saturday would send out a statement to the Citizens, although Brighton will undoubtedly provide a stern test for Arsenal.

Off the pitch, one of Arsenal’s first team players is on his way to another south coast side.

According to Fabrizio Romano, goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is set to undergo a medical on Thursday ahead of a proposed move to Southampton.

The Englishman has fallen out of favour at The Emirates since the arrival of fellow ‘keeper David Raya on loan from Brentford last summer, and it is claimed that he is set to complete a £25 million move to St. Mary’s.

Ramsdale is set to join Southampton in a deal worth £25 million

The Spaniard has since made his move to Arsenal permanent, and Ramsdale is therefore set to depart the North London club in search of guaranteed game time.

Ramsdale, 26, joined the Gunners from Sheffield United back in 2021 and was initially Arteta’s number one, but he fell down the pecking order at the start of last term.

In total the England international has played 89 times for the Gunners across all competitions, conceding 99 times and keeping 32 clean sheets.

His contract with Arsenal doesn’t expire until the end of the 2025/26 campaign, but Romano claims that he will complete a move to St. Mary’s in the coming days.
