Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly leading Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton in the race to sign highly-rated Charlton Athletic forward Ademola Lookman, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Premier League quartet sent scouts to watch the 18-year-old in action in last month’s European Under-19 Championships, and they are ready to make their move for the Addicks attacker, who could cost more than £2 million, before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

The striker, who was a 68th-minute substitute in his side’s 2-0 defeat to Bury on Saturday in their first League One match of the campaign following relegation from the Championship last season, signed a new deal until 2020 with the south London outfit back in February, but Arsenal and Liverpool are at the head of the queue for his signature.

Lookman has made 24 appearances in all competitions for Charlton since making his first-team debut for the club in November  2015, scoring five goals and providing one assist.
