Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be hoping to see his side keep the pressure up on the Premier League’s top two sides when they face Brentford on Saturday.

The Gunners currently sit third in the top flight table, level on points with second-placed Liverpool and just a single point behind leaders Manchester City.

Ahead of the match, though, it appears that the North London club have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of a Serie A star.

According to 90min, Juventus are hopeful that striker Dusan Vlahovic will sign a new contract with the club, despite interest from clubs across Europe.

The Serbian joined Juventus from fellow Italian side Fiorentina back in January 2022 and has since made a total of 73 appearances for the club across all competitions.

Vlahovic could soon sign a new contract with Juventus

The 23-year-old has scored 27 goals and provided seven assists in that time, although he did endure a difficult season last term, scoring just ten times in Serie A.

Vlahovic was linked with a departure from The Old Lady this summer and manager Max Allegri reportedly gave permission for the player to depart, but a move never materialised.

Both Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in the Serbia international, according to the report, however his current employers are confident that he will commit his future to the Turin outfit.

German giants Bayern Munich were also credited with an interest in Vlahovic earlier this year, but they are unlikely to retain an interest having signed Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur over the summer.

The player’s current contract is set to run until the summer of 2026, but Juventus are hopeful that he will sign a long-term extension.
