Arsenal have reportedly joined Newcastle United in the chase for former Chelsea forward Gokhan Tore.

Despite the Premier League outfits being at opposite ends of the league table after eight games, both clubs are interested in lodging a January move for the Besiktas ace.

The 23-year-old, who has 24 international caps for Turkey, has scored twice in nine appearances in all competitions for the Super Lig leaders, including five assists.

Tore, who ended his youth career at Stamford Bridge between 2009 and 2011, failed to make a first-team appearance for the Blues before joining German club Hamburger SV.

With Besiktas wary of Premier League interest in their star winger, the club are thought to have valued Tore’s services at around £15m.
