Arsenal are set to battle it out with North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur to sign Norwich City full back Max Aarons, according to Goal.com.

However, despite the Gunners’ interest in the promising young full back, reports suggest Arsenal are not willing to stump up the £30million asking price for Aarons.

At just 20-years-old Aarons has been the shining light in a difficult campaign for the Canaries which has seen them struggle in their season back in the top flight.

Arteta wants to add to his Arsenal squad in the summer.

The England U21 international has been a consistent performer in the Premier League, showcasing defensive capabilities and bags of energy to get forward.

However, if Arsenal cannot afford their target, this could open the door for neighbours Tottenham to swoop for the talented defender this summer.
