Arsenal are closing in on their first Premier League title in almost two decades after a 2-2 draw against Liverpool on Sunday.

The Gunners have shocked many people with their performances so far this term and currently sit top of the table, eight points clear of reigning champions Manchester City.

Striker Gabriel Jesus has netted eight goals this season, despite spending a lot of time on the sidelines due to an injury sustained at the World Cup in Qatar in December.

The Brazilian has undoubtedly contributed to the improvement of this Arsenal side, while Eddie Nketiah has also impressed when deputising for the Brazilian.

While Jesus and Nketiah have impressed in the Premier League, Gunners youngster Folarin Balogun has been in sensational form in France.

The youngster is currently on loan at Ligue 1 side Reims, but it appears that he could leave Arsenal permanently this summer.

According to The Athletic, Balogun will refuse a third loan away from Arsenal in a bid for regular playing time, even if it means that he has to depart The Emirates.

Balogun rose through the youth ranks at Hale End and, after impressing during a handful of cameos, he was sent to Middlesbrough on loan last season.

The striker failed to set the Championship alight as he only managed to score three goals in 18 games for Boro, though.

Despite struggling to impress in the Championship, Ligue 1 side Stade Reims decided to provide the striker with a second chance and signed him on loan at the start of this season.

Balogun is among the top scorers in Ligue 1 this season

Since joining the club, Balogun has taken the French top flight by surprise and has become one of the most prolific scorers in France this term, netting 18 times in 29 matches so far.

The striker’s tally has helped propel Will Still’s side to 8th place in the league, and he is currently joint-third in the list of top scorers in the division.

Balogun’s goal tally this season hasn’t gone unnoticed, though, and the forward will likely be the subject of significant interest this summer.

The striker will return to the Gunners at the end of the season, but the report suggests that he will be seeking a move away from the north London side as he pursues regular first-team football.

The Englishman, who is contracted to Arsenal until 2025, will likely remain down the pecking order at Arsenal due to the impressive performances of Jesus and Nketiah this season.

However, the striker will likely have plenty of suitors sniffing around him at the end of the season due to his exceptional performances for Stade Reims this season.

Many clubs, including Inter Milan and AC Milan, are rumoured to be monitoring the striker’s situation.
