Arsenal owe Independiente an outstanding payment of £433,000 for goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, according to reports.

The Gunners signed the 27-year-old from the Argentine club back in 2010 and he is currently the club’s second-choice stopper behind Bernd Leno.

Doble Amarilla report that Independiente are chasing an additional payment within the £1.35million deal made 10 years ago.

It’s claimed that the South American side were due to receive that in November 2019 following a Europa League appearance.

Martinez has played 11 matches this term.

However, Arsenal are thought to have rejected the request because they felt that matches in that competition were not included in the agreement.

But having played three FA Cup matches since then, it’s reported Independiente are back looking for the payment.

Martinez has only played 25 matches in all for the Gunners but has had loan spells at Oxford United, Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Getafe and Reading since moving to London.
