Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be pleased with his side’s start to the Premier League season, as the Gunners chase a first top flight title in more than two decades.

The North London outfit have finished as runners-up to rivals Manchester City for two consecutive seasons, and the Spaniard will be desperate to ensure his side emerge victorious this time around.

Currently Arsenal sit third in the Premier League table, a single point behind leaders Liverpool.

They travel to the south coast to face Bournemouth when domestic football returns next weekend, and it appears that Arteta may have his eyes on a couple of the Cherries’ players.

As reported by CaughtOffside, Arteta is a huge fan of Bournemouth pair Antoine Semenyo and Milos Kerkez.

Semenyo has started the new season in fine form for the Cherries, scoring three goals and providing an assist, and the report suggests that Arsenal believe he could be a suitable back-up option for Bukayo Saka on the right of Arsenal’s attack.

Left-back Kerkez, meanwhile, is perceived as a possible replacement for Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney with at least one of the pair set to be sold next summer.

Despite Arsenal’s interest in the duo, the report suggests that Bournemouth value the pair at a combined £67 million – a sum that Arsenal are unlikely to pay.

Semenyo, 24, joined Bournemouth from Bristol City last year and has now played 55 times for the Cherries, scoring 15 times.

Kerkez, meanwhile, signed for the south coast club from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar last summer and has now made 40 appearances for the club.

Arsenal could face stiff competition from North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Semenyo, with the Lilywhites also having shown interest in the Ghana international of late.
