Arsenal have reportedly been linked with a move for Slovenia international goalkeeper Jan Oblak, but are unwilling to meet his release clause fee, according to Goal.

The Premier League side, who currently sit fourth in the English top-flight standings after Sunday’s 3-1 victory over AFC Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium, are understood to be keeping tabs on the highly-rated Atletico Madrid shot stopper ahead of the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old, who has 12 international caps for his country and faced England in last month’s 2018 World Cup qualifier (0-0), has impressively kept 10 clean sheets in 18 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit so far this season.

Oblak, who joined the Spanish side from Benfica back in July 2014 following his reported £12.6m switch, is now understood to have a £85m release clause at Atletico.

The report suggests the Gunners are keen admirers of the Slovenian star, but any future move would not come close to his astronomical release clause figure.
