After a disastrous start, Arsenal are slowly but surely rescuing their season and getting back on track in their efforts to reach the European qualification places.

Having sat bottom of the table after three matches, Mikel Arteta’s side are now on the brink of the top half, having won three of their past four games.

The Gunners’ upturn in form has coincided with Arteta making wholesale changes to his side, with the likes of Takehiro Tomiyasu and Aaron Ramsdale replacing the likes of Bernd Leno and Cedric Soares.

Having found some form, Arteta may well now feel that he has found a winning formula and choose to stick with his current starting line up, which could be bad news for some.

Among those who may now struggle to return to the starting XI is Alexandre Lacazette, who has been out of favour all season in North London.

Lacazette’s only goals this season have come in the Carabao Cup

Having played just 49 minutes of Premier League football this season, the Frenchman is expected to depart the club in the next twelve months, and if not will be free to leave when his contract expires next summer.

The French international would also be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with any foreign club in January.

It has also recently emerged that Arsenal are already considering replacements for Lacazette, who has scored just six times in his past 19 league games.

As per Onze Mondial via TeamTalk, Arteta’s side are monitoring the situation of Zenit St Petersburg striker Sardar Azmoum.

The Iranian international impressed last season, scoring 19 times in 24 games as Zenit won the Russian Premier League title.

The French outlet claim that Azmoum has ‘caught the eye’ of the Gunners.

The 26-year-old recently revealed that he rejected Arsenal’s bitter North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur over the summer.

“I had offers from Lyon, Roma, Bayer Leverkusen and Tottenham. But all the proposals were rejected, this year I will not move anywhere,” the striker said on the matter.

Now, it appears that it is the turn of Arsenal to make a move for the Iranian.

The striker, who has played in the Champions League on several occasions, boasts an impressive record for his current club, having scored 58 times in 95 appearances.
