Arsenal will be hoping to return to winning ways when they face Newcastle United on Saturday.

The Gunners have been in fine form domestically of late, winning their last five matches, but suffered defeat against Porto in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie on Wednesday.

Manager Mikel Arteta will be desperate to see his side return to winning ways against the Magpies, but Eddie Howe’s side will undoubtedly provide a stern test for the Gunners.

Regardless of how successful this season proves to be, it appears that the North London outfit have identified a transfer target for the summer.

As per Football Insider, the Gunners are monitoring Red Bull Salzburg youngster Oscar Gloukh ahead of a potential move for the player this summer.

Gloukh has emerged as a target for Arsenal

The 19-year-old has impressed in the Austrian top flight so far this term, scoring four goals and providing the same number of assists in 18 matches in the competition.

It is claimed that Arsenal have scouted the teenager and are keeping tabs on him, although fellow Premier League side Aston Villa are also interested in him.

Gloukh joined RB Salzburg from Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv in January last year, and has since made 45 appearances across all competitions.

The attacking midfielder has scored eight goals and provided nine assists, but his impressive showings have attracted interest from elsewhere and the Austrian side may now face a battle to keep hold of the youngster.

The Israeli international, who has been particularly impressive in the Champions League this term, has been capped 12 times by his country at international level.

He is contracted to his current club until 2027, but the Austrian outfit will likely field a number of enquiries about Gloukh’s availability when the transfer window reopens this summer.
