Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Spain international forward Alvaro Morata this summer, according to The Times.

The Premier League duo have been linked with a move for the striker, who will re-join Real Madrid from Juventus after the La Liga giants activated a buy-back clause in his contract.

The 23-year-old, who has 12 international caps for his country and has scored three goals for Spain at EURO 2016 so far this month, found the back of the net 12 times and provided a further 12 assists whilst with the Serie A champions last season.

The report understands that Real will have to pay around £24m for Morata this summer, but are then likely to sell the Spaniard to the highest bidder ahead of the 2016/17 campaign – with the aim of making a healthy profit.

Morata scored Spain’s opening goal against Croatia in Group D on Tuesday night, but he couldn’t prevent the defending European champions being pinned back to a shock 2-1 defeat in Bordeaux.
