With the second transfer window of the summer now in full swing, Arsenal are yet to complete a single signing.

The Gunners have finished second in the Premier League table in each of the past three seasons, and head coach Mikel Arteta is therefore likely to want to bolster his squad this summer in an effort to go one better next term.

The North London side are yet to add to Arteta’s squad, though, despite a number of departures including midfield duo Jorginho and Thomas Partey.

Now, however, it appears that Arsenal are finally closing in on a marquee signing.

According to CaughtOffside, the Gunners are close to reaching an agreement to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.

The Slovenia international has been heavily linked with a move to The Emirates for much of the summer so far, but talks over a deal haven’t yet produced an agreement.

That could soon change, though, as the report claims that Arsenal are close to agreeing a deal in the region of £64 million to sign the 22-year-old.

Sesko joined Leipzig from Austrian outfit Red Bull Salzburg in 2023 and has since played 87 times for his current club, scoring 39 goals and providing eight assists.

The Slovenian is under contract until the end of the 2028/29 campaign, but it appears increasingly likely that he will depart his current side this summer with The Emirates looking like his most likely destination.

It is claimed that Arsenal could face competition to sign the striker, though, with Premier League rivals Manchester United and Manchester City both said to be monitoring the situation with a view to potentially looking to pounce if the deal falls through.

Spanish giants Real Madrid are also credited with an interest in the striker, who has scored 16 times in 41 caps for Slovenia.
