Arsenal closing in on bargain £5million swoop for Le Havre midfielder Pape Gueye, according to Jeunes Footeux.

If the deal is completed it will be new boss Mikel Arteta’s first permanent signing for the Gunners, following his arrival to the club in December last year.

Gueye himself, stands at 6ft 2′ and at just 21-years-old, has plenty of time to grow as a player.

Guendouzi has been praised for his all-action displays in Arsenal’s midfield.

Le Havre recently dropped out of Ligue 1 down to the second tier of French football, but this is unlikely to put Arsenal off having signed Matteo Guendouzi from that division.

However, it is not just Arteta’s side who are interested in the France U19 international, with reports suggesting AC Milan, Fiorentina, Udinese and Sevilla have been keeping an eye on the youngster.

The Express are reporting that Arsenal could be closing in on completing a deal, which will see Gueye join the club once the window opens in the summer.
