Arsenal are reportedly considering a £22m bid for Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak.

The Premier League outfit sent out scouts to watch the 24-year-old in Georgia during Sevilla’s enthralling 5-4 defeat to FC Barcelona in the UEFA Super Cup on Tuesday.

Krychowiak, who has 26 international caps for Poland, scored four goals in 48 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga side last season, who won the 2015 UEFA Europa League.

It is understood that the defensive midfielder has a buy-out clause of £21.26m at Sevilla, which could tempt Gunners boss Arsene Wenger into making a late move before the close of the transfer window.

With goalkeeper Petr Cech being Arsenal’s only major new signing so far this summer; it is thought that Wenger wants to bring Krychowiak to the Emirates as competition for fellow midfielder Francis Coquelin.

i must say that wenger is a useless man,our major problem have been a striker,a good striker,he dont want to buy any rather than to promise any how.

Wenger to me commits football self-harm. Early in the Window we saw Kondogbia, Carvalho, Imbula all available. Wenger was not interested because in his eyes, and in his eyes only, the team as it was, was good enough to mount a PL challenge. Well first game in and we were stuffed by West Ham’s very own DM. Comical. Now, too late, Wenger may well end up buying a third choice DM in Krychowiak. When Mourinho called Wenger “A Specialist in Failure”, he was right. In both the Premier League and the European Champions League, that is what Wenger is…a failure. A stubborn man who believes only he knows how to win. Sadly in the big trophies he does not know at all how to win. Like I said ‘football self harm’
