According to reports from Squawka, Arsenal are considering sending defender Rob Holding out on loan in January in a bid to get him some more first team football, with opportunities in north London limited.

The 21-year-old, who arrived from Bolton over the summer, had featured in the first team setup early in the Premier League season as the Gunners were without the likes of Laurent Koscielny after the European Championships.

However, since the France international returned to the setup, forming a solid partnership with another summer addition in Shkodran Mustafi, Holding has found game time hard to come by.

With Arsene Wenger’s side having been knocked out of the EFL Cup by Southampton in November, the England U21 international is unlikely to be involved at all at The Emirates.

There is reportedly a lot of interest in a deal in January coming from the Championship, whilst there is also some interest from Premier League sides as well.
