Arsenal will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table on Friday evening as they travel north to face Everton at Goodison Park.

New Toffees boss Sean Dyche will take charge of the club for the first time when The Gunners visit, with Mikel Arteta’s side able to extend their lead to eight points if they are victorious.

In the meantime, Arsenal are set to be busy during the final day of the January transfer window, with a number of names continuing to be linked with a move to The Emirates.

According to 90min, the London side are considering a late move for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.

The Belgium international has been impressive for much of his time with The Foxes, but he is set to be out of contract in the summer and Arsenal could make a late move to tempt him to the capital.

It is claimed that The Gunners could make an offer to test Leicester’s resolve, with their offers for Brighton and Hove Albion’s Moises Caicedo having so far failed.

Tielemans missed a penalty against Walsall in his last match

Tielemans, 25, is believed to have rejected several contract offers from his current employers and is therefore almost certain to leave the club at the end of the season.

Since joining The Foxes from French side Monaco in 2019, the midfielder has made more than 180 appearances for Leicester across all competitions.

He has scored 28 goals in that time, as well as providing 25 assists, and has also become a regular in the Belgium squad.

The player himself is said to be open to the idea of a move on deadline day but, despite his contract expiring in less than six months, it is claimed that Leicester would only let the player leave if they were offered a significant fee.

Arsenal boss Arteta is looking to add at least one midfielder to his squad ahead of a pivotal second-half of the season.

The Spaniard has primarily deployed Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard as a midfield trio so far this term, but Mohamed Elneny has struggled with injuries and Albert Sambi Lokonga failed to impress when he was substituted on against Manchester City last time out.

That has prompted Arsenal to look for a new midfielder as they aim to preserve their lead at the top of the table, and it appears that they may well rekindle their interest in Tielemans.
