Arsenal suffered a second successive defeat as they lost 2-1 to Fulham on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta’s side went ahead at Craven Cottage through Bukayo Saka, before the Cottagers produced an impressive comeback to turn the game on its head.

The result means that the Gunners have now won just one of their last five games in the Premier League, losing ground in the title race in the process.

Despite their recent blip, it appears that Arsenal could allow one of their current fringe players to leave and join another Premier League side.

According to Football Insider, the North London club are prepared to let winger Reiss Nelson leave on loan this month.

The report claims that the 24-year-old has attracted interest from clubs both in England and in Europe, and the Gunners could allow him to depart on loan.

Nelson has attracted interest from elsewhere and could leave Arsenal on loan this month

Nelson is a product of Arsenal’s youth academy and has made a total of 82 appearances for the club across all competitions, including 17 so far this term.

His opportunities have primarily been limited to substitute appearances, though, with the Englishman having failed to start a single Premier League match so far this season.

Nelson’s versatility could appeal to potential suitors, with the former England Under-21 international able to operate on either flank.

It is claimed that those in charge of the club, including Arteta, do not want to lose Nelson permanently but are open to the idea of the player departing on loan before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month.

The player signed a new contract with Arsenal in July, which is set to run until 2027 and earns the player a reported wage of £100,000-per-week.
