Arsenal will be looking to return to winning ways on Tuesday when they face London rivals Chelsea.

Last time out The Gunners slumped to a 4-1 defeat against reigning Premier League champions Manchester City, and The Citizens have since leapfrogged Arsenal into top spot.

Mikel Arteta’s side have defied all expectations this season as they have spent most of the campaign at the top of the Premier League table.

Arsenal signed striker Gabriel Jesus and left-back Oklesandr Zicnhenko from Manchester City last summer, however, it now seems that Arsenal may lose a player to The Citizens this summer.

According to Football Insider, Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney could be a Manchester City target for the summer.

With both Zinchenko and Joao Cancelo having departed City in the last 12 months, Pep Guardiola is now looking to add some much-needed depth at left-back.

The arrival of Zinchenko in North London has caused Scottish international Tierney to fall out of favour in Arteta’s side and he often struggles to make the starting line-up.

Kieran Tierney could make the switch to Manchester City after losing his spot in the starting line-up this season.

The 25-year-old has made 22 Premier League appearances this season, but 17 of those features have been from the bench.

Tierney signed for the Gunners from Celtic for around £25m in the summer of 2019.

The defender produced 25 assists and scored five goals for The Hoops during the 97 appearances he made in the Scottish Premiership.

Tierney also helped Celtic to win five Scottish Premiership titles, three Scottish Cups and three Scottish League Cups.

Since making the switch to north London, Tierney has appeared 86 times in the Premier League for The Gunners, producing nine assists and scoring three goals.

However, the Scottish international has been plagued by a knee injury during his career at Arsenal, which caused him to miss 14 games in the 2020/21 season.

The left-back underwent surgery last year to try and fix the problem, which caused him to miss around 10 games for The Gunners.

However, Tierney signed a long-term contract in 2021, which could encourage Arsenal to place a high price tag on the defender.

Despite his worrying injury record, Tierney could add valuable depth to Guardiola’s side if they decide to go ahead and launch an attempt to sign the defender.
