Arsenal will hope to keep alive their Premier League title hopes when they face Aston Villa on Saturday.

The Gunners defeated fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in the North London derby on Wednesday, moving Mikel Arteta’s side second in the top flight table and just four points behind leaders Liverpool.

Arteta will hope to see his side build on that victory by beating the Villans on Saturday, but Unai Emery’s side will undoubtedly provide a stern test for the Gunners at The Emirates.

In the meantime, it has emerged that the North London outfit may miss out on one of their transfer targets this month.

According to GiveMeSport, Arsenal are unlikely to be able to agree a deal to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko this month as he is unlikely to be allowed to leave his current side.

Sesko has been a target for Arsenal boss Arteta for some time now, but the Spaniard could be disappointed as Leipzig are set to keep hold of the player until the summer at least.

Sesko is a target for Arsenal

The 21-year-old joined Leipzig from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg in the summer of 2023 and has since scored 31 times in 67 games across all competitions for the German side.

It is claimed that Arsenal have held back from making a formal move for Sesko this month, as he is far more likely to be lured away from Germany during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Slovenia international is contracted to Leipzig until the summer of 2029, but the report suggests that Arsenal believe they may be able to sign him at the end of the current campaign.

This season the forward – who earns £92,000-per-week at present – has scored 13 goals in 25 games, including eight goals in 17 Bundesliga matches.
