Arsenal will hope to keep alive their Premier League title chances when they face Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

The Gunners cruised to a 3-1 win over London rivals Brentford last time out, keeping them within six points of league leaders Liverpool.

With his side currently sat in second place, Manager Mikel Arteta could delve into the transfer window this month in a bid to bolster his squad ahead of the second half of the season.

Now, though, it appears that one of Arteta’s defenders could be on his way out of The Emirates.

As per journalist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are in talks with Scottish champions Celtic over a possible move that would see left-back Kieran Tierney return to Glasgow.

Romano claims that talks between the two clubs are underway, with Tierney himself keen on the idea of a return to his former club.

Tierney, 27, joined the Gunners from Celtic in 2019 and has since played 125 times for the North London side across all competitions.

Having initially been the club’s first choice left-back, the Scot has since fallen down the pecking order and has spent time on loan in Spain with Real Sociedad.

The Scotland international hasn’t featured in the Premier League since the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

Romano claims that talks are ongoing as the two clubs attempt to reach an agreement for Tierney to return to Glasgow, having made just one appearance for Arteta’s side so far this term.

Tierney’s current contract with Arsenal is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, meaning he could sign a pre-contract agreement with any club outside of England this month before joining on a free transfer in the summer.

It appears, though, that Arsenal could allow the defender to leave this month if an agreement can be reached.
