Arsenal are reportedly ramping up their pursuit of Portugal international defender Raphael Guerreiro, according to Transfermarketweb (via the Metro).

The Premier League side, who defeated West Brom 2-0 inside the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night to lift the Gunners back up to third in the English top-flight standings, are exploring the possibility of recruiting the Lorient left-back during the forthcoming summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old, who has five international caps for his country and is set to feature for Portugal at Euro 2016 later this year in France, has scored three goals and provided two assists in 37 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit so far this season.

Guerreiro, who is also attracting interest from fellow Premier League rivals Liverpool and French champions Paris Saint-Germain, currently has one year left on his current deal at Lorient.

The report suggests that the Gunners could snap up the player on the cheap, with the defender’s asking price thought to be around £5.8m.
