Arsenal are reportedly keen on luring Spain Under-21 international star Marcos Llorente to the Emirates Stadium, according to Don Balon.

The Premier League side, who currently sit fourth in the English top-flight standings, just three points behind leaders Chelsea following their latest 3-1 victory over AFC Bournemouth at the weekend, have been linked with a move for the highly-rated Real Madrid midfielder ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.

The 21-year-old, who has featured three times for Spain’s Under-21 side, has provided one assist in 11 league appearances whilst on loan at fellow La Liga outfit Deportivo Alaves so far this season.

Llorente, who came through Madrid’s youth ranks, is drawing interest from Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who believes the Spaniard has a bright future.

However, the report suggests that Arsenal could struggle to tempt the central midfielder to London considering his ambition to follow in the footsteps of his father, grandfather and great uncle in starring for Madrid.
