Arsenal are reportedly considering a January swoop for Switzerland star Granit Xhaka.
The Premier League side, who are currently joint-leaders alongside Manchester City, have been scouting the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder throughout the start of this season.
The 23-year-old, who has 38 international caps to his name, has scored three goals in 16 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit so far this season.
Defensive midfielder Xhaka, who began his youth career at FC Basel, has emerged as a potential candidate to provide competition for Francis Coquelin in the middle of the Gunners’ midfield.
However; the Swiss ace’s current contract at Monchengladbach is riddled with a buyout clause fee of £21m, which reportedly cannot be triggered until 2017, so Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger would most likely have to pay well over the odds to sign his transfer target in the near future.
