Arsenal have reportedly emerged as shock suitors for England international midfielder Jesse Lingard, according to The Sun on Sunday.

The Premier League side, who defeated Stoke City 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon in the English top-flight, are understood to be ready to offer the winger a way out of rivals Manchester United.

The 23-year-old, who has three international caps for the Three Lions, has scored three goals and provided two assists in 13 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils so far this season.

Lingard; who came through the youth ranks at Old Trafford, could be offered a double-your-money deal at the Emirates Stadium, as the Gunners hit back at United’s interest in fellow midfielder Mesut Ozil.

The winger’s current deal at the Theatre of Dreams expires at the end of the 2017/18 campaign, but Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is an admirer of the Red Devil and could tempt him to North London with a £120,000-a-week wage.
