Arsenal are reportedly considering a mega-money move for Spain international forward Marco Asensio, according to the Express.

The Premier League side, who visited Anfield this afternoon to take on Liverpool in the top-flight, have been linked with a spectacular late summer swoop for the Real Madrid starlet before next Thursday’s transfer window deadline.

The 21-year-old, who has three international caps for his country, has already scored two goals in four games for the defending La Liga champions this campaign – a goal apiece in the Supercopa legs against rivals FC Barcelona.

Asensio, who joined the Spanish giants from Mallorca back in December 2014, has netted 12 goals and provided four assists in 42 appearances in all competitions for Zinedine Zidane’s side overall.

However, the report suggests The Gunners are preparing to meet the winger’s extraordinary £75m buy-out clause, with the Spaniard seeking more first-team opportunities.

Asensio has already turned down a move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer transfer window, whilst Serie A outfit Inter Milan have also been linked with the forward’s services.

Arsenal have already smashed their club-record transfer buy this summer, splashing out an initial £46.5m for striker Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon.
