Arsenal will be looking to continue their strong start to the season with a win against Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.

The Gunners have won three of their four Premier League fixtures so far, including a win against Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United at the Emirates last time out.

Mikel Arteta’s side will be determined to fight for the title once again this term after narrowly losing out to Manchester City last season.

The North Londoners were busy throughout the summer transfer window as they looked to bolster the squad, in an effort to once again challenge for the title this time around.

The Gunners signed Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and David Raya to boost the quality and competition available to Arteta, however a number of senior players have already suffered with injuries so far this term.

Arsenal remain interested in Diamonde and could make an improved bid for the defender in January

Arteta has used midfielder Thomas Partey in defence this season, while Gabriel has struggled for fitness, and it appears that Arsenal are therefore looking to bolster their defensive ranks.

According to Fabrizio Romano via Caught Offside, Arsenal face stuff competition for Sporting CP centre-back Ousmane Diomande.

The report claims that three or four clubs remain interested in the defender, with the Gunners having made attempts to sign him during the recent window.

Diomande, 19, has made 21 total appearances for Sporting since signing for them from FC Midtjylland in January for a fee of around £6 million.

The teenager has been impressive during his time in Portugal, which has captured the attention of clubs like Arsenal.

It is believed that Arsenal had a £30m bid rejected for the Ivorian over the summer, with his release clause set at around £69m.

The defender is contracted to the Portuguese club until 2027, which puts Sporting under very little pressure to sell him.
