Arsenal have been handed a boost in their reported pursuit of Spain international striker Alvaro Morata, according to Diario Gol.
The Premier League side, who have moved up to second spot in the top-flight standings after defeating Burnley 2-1 on Sunday, have been continually linked with luring the Real Madrid forward to the Emirates Stadium during previous transfer windows.
The 24-year-old, who has 18 international caps for his country and featured for Spain at Euro 2016 last year, has scored nine goals and provided four assists in 26 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
Morata, who re-joined the La Liga giants back in June 2016 from Serie A champions Juventus, is understood to have become frustrated having fallen behind Karim Benzema in the pecking order under manager Zinedine Zidane this campaign.
The Spaniard has started just six league fixtures for the La Liga leaders this season.
Morata has scored 20 goals in 78 games overall for Zidane’s side during his two spells at the club.
The forward has also been linked with Premier League rivals Chelsea.
