Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be hoping to bolster his squad this summer in an effort to improve on last season’s second-placed Premier League finish.

The Spaniard has seen his side surrender first place to rivals Manchester City in each of the past two campaigns, and he will be keen to add to his options during the upcoming summer transfer window in a bid to go one better next term.

With that in mind, the Gunners may have been handed a boost in their pursuit of a Premier League midfielder.

According to HITC, Everton have made Arsenal target Amadou Onana available for sale this summer.

The 22-year-old midfielder joined the Toffees from French side Lille in the summer of 2022 and has since played an integral role for the Merseyside club.

Onana has attracted interest from Arsenal

In total he has made 72 appearances for the club across all competitions, but his impressive displays have attracted interest from elsewhere.

The report claims that Everton are likely to have to sell at least one key player this summer in order to avoid breaching the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

Everton were docked points twice last term for breaching the regulations, and it is claimed that the club will have to sell this summer to avoid doing so again.

Onana is regarded as one of the club’s most important players and is said to be valued by Everton at around £50 million.

The Belgium international has been a target for the Gunners for some time now, and the North London outfit could move for him this summer as they search for a new central midfielder to partner Declan Rice.

Thomas Partey has been heavily linked with a move away from The Emirates, and Arsenal would then look to replace the Ghana international.
