Arsenal are the favourites to land talented Sunderland teenager Logan Pye, according to reports.

The 15-year-old has already played four times for the Black Cats’ Under-18s so far this term and is being talked about as a star for the future.

Now the Sun report that his development on Wearside has attracted the interest of Unai Emery’s Premier League Gunners.

It’s claimed that the North London side are leading Manchester United in the race to sign the player who can play at both centre-back and or full-back.

Emery’s Arsenal are in pole position to land Sunderland’s Pye.

The England Under-16 international had been linked with a switch to Old Trafford but Arsenal now look ready to move and secure the prospect in January.

Emery and the Gunners have shown they are looking to plan long-term in the summer by signing the likes of William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli.

Saliba, 18, joined from Saint-Etienne before returning to the Ligue 1 club on a season-long loan, while Martinelli has already made his Premier League debut, coming on in the 1-0 opening day win at Newcastle United.
