The transfer window officially opened on Wednesday, and rumours surrounding Premier League clubs and players are already rife.

A number of stars could be on the move in the coming weeks, while several clubs are set to undergo significant change ahead of next season.

Arsenal are set to be busy in the coming weeks with manager Mikel Arteta keen to bolster his squad in a bid to improve on their credible second-placed finish this term.

The Gunners topped the Premier League table for the majority of the campaign before being overtaken by eventual winners Manchester City, but the north London outfit did secure Champions League qualification for the first time in seven years.

Now, it appears that Arsenal are hoping to complete a sensational move for a player from one of their biggest rivals.

As per 90min, the Gunners are in talks with Chelsea over a proposed move for forward Kai Havertz.

The Germany international joined the Blues from Bayer Leverkusen back in 2020 and has since made 139 appearances across all competitions, scoring 32 goals and providing 15 assists.

Havertz could be on his way across London to join Arsenal

In 2021, the forward scored the winning goal as Chelsea beat Manchester City 1-0 in the Champions League final, but he has since struggled to impress in west London.

With two years remaining on his current contract, Arsenal are reportedly hoping to reach an agreement with their London rivals and lure the German to The Emirates.

Arteta is said to be keen on the idea of bolstering his attacking options ahead of their European campaign next season.

Havertz has also attracted interest from German champions Bayern Munich and Spanish giants Real Madrid, the report claims.

While Chelsea are said to be keen to keep hold of the player, the report also claims that they would consider selling him for the right price.

The Blues are believed to have paid more than £70 million to sign Havertz three years ago, and it is claimed that they would look to recoup all of the money that they spent.

If Havertz did join the Gunners, he would be reunited with former Chelsea teammate Jorginho, who left Stamford Bridge to join Arsenal back in January.
