With the transfer window hotting up, Arsenal are yet to make a single signing so far this summer.

The North London outfit missed out on the Premier League title once again last term, finishing second for the third consecutive campaign.

The Gunners had previously finished behind Manchester City twice in a row, but last season it was Liverpool who pipped them to top spot.

Despite this, Mikel Arteta is yet to delve into the transfer market to bolster his squad ahead of next season.

Now, it appears that Arsenal are interested in a Brazilian midfielder.

According to Brazilian outlet UOL via TBR Football, the Gunners have held talks about a potential move for Corinthians star Breno Bidon.

Arteta has already lost Jorginho from his midfield since the end of last season, and the report suggests that Thomas Partey could also be on his way out of The Emirates this summer.

With that in mind, Arteta and those in charge of the club’s recruitment are hoping to bolster their midfield.

Bidon, 20, is a product of Corinthians’ youth academy and has now played 70 times for the Brazilian club at senior level.

It is claimed that the Brazilian side need to sell players in order to generate funds this summer, and Bidon could therefore be available.

Corinthians are said to have put a price tag of around £13 million on the young midfielder, who is under contract with his current side until December 2029.

Fellow Premier League sides Wolves and Brighton and Hove Albion could also rival Arsenal in the race to sign Bidon, the report claims, while Portuguese clubs Benfica and Sporting CP are also said to be interested in the player.
